My favourite holiday resort is Boracay which is an island located approximately in the middle of the 7000 islands which make up the Philippines. You can get there by boat or plane from any of the other islands. If you go by plane, you land on an adjacent island called Caticlan and then get a small boat across a short section of water to this beautiful place away from all the cares of life.
There are many different places to choose from. You can take a 3 wheel motor cycle through the narrow streets which are set through an undulating part of the island. All the hotels and places to stay are set side by side along a beautiful white sandy beach which extends some 2 to 3 kilometers.
The beautiful, clean, light blue waters along this beach are nice and shallow for some distance out to sea which make ideal conditions for swimming or just sitting in the water and relaxing for days on end. all along the beach there are palm trees not far from the waters edge where there are many places to sit and relax on deck chairs and also tables and chairs for eating breakfast, lunch or your evening meal.
there are banana boat rides, yachts of all sizes, sea scooters, speed boats and many other sorts of entertainment.
International menus and drinks are available in most food places at very reasonable prices and the service is the friendliest you can find anywhere. Along this area there are little avenues which are at right angles to the beach with many little shops selling everything from island jewellery to clothes of all descriptions.
By spending a week or two on Boracay, you will come away completely ready to face the world and its problems.
I'd really like to know abou YOUR holiday. When did you last go to Boracay? Who with? What did you do?
ReplyDeleteMy husband, my Daughter Alaiza Mae and muyself were in Boracay last June, We had been waiting for nearly 18months for our visas to be approved and when they finally came my husband flew up to the Philippines to bring us to Australia, because we had been apart for so long my husband decided we should spend a while together in our home country before we left for our new life here so we booked a small chalet on Boracay Island. It was the most enjoyable 3-4 days I have ever had , the place was so relaxing all we did during most of each day was spent swimming in the beautiful shallow clean water along the beach, spent hours laying on deck chairs and enjoying each other company while Alaiza Mae enjoyed making sand castles from the very fine clean beach sand, at other times we went looking at all the amazing little shopping venues which had every conceivable sorts of clothes and many other deliteful articals in the evening we went for long walks along the beach and sometimes stopped at the fire eaters who were performing there to intertain the people or sat on the sand and listened to the karaoke singers.
