Rangoon, the city where I lived before I came to Australia, is the capital of Burma. It is located at the mouth of the Ayeyaradi river which is one of the largest rivers in south-east Asia. The climate is tropical monsoon.
Rangoon is 598 kilometers square in area and its population is about five million. It is a multicultural city with people from many backgrounds and different ethnic groups including Burmese, Chinese and Indian. The main language is Burmese .
Rangoon has a famous Buddhist pagoda, called Shwe Da Gon Pagoda. There's the national museum, the zoo, Rangoon International Airport and the harbour, universities and two beautiful lakes. There are many kinds of industries. Also, there are many restaurants in Rangoon serving foods from many other countries.
Rangoon is a comfortable place to live and it attracts tourists from all over the world.
